Scope of practice
Little Biome provides naturopathic and nutritional care, including dietary advice and herbal and nutritional supplement recommendations. This care is complementary to, and does not replace, medical diagnosis or treatment from a registered medical practitioner. You should continue to see your GP or specialist for any medical concerns, and inform them of any naturopathic care you are receiving.
Any nutritional or herbal supplements recommended have not been evaluated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Website and social media content
General information published on our website, blog, or social media is for educational purposes only and is not personalised medical or naturopathic advice. It should not be used as a substitute for an individual consultation.
Telehealth consultations
Consultations are conducted via telehealth. By booking a consultation, you acknowledge that a remote consultation has limitations compared to an in person physical assessment, and you consent to receiving care in this format.
If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, call 000 or attend your nearest hospital emergency department immediately. Telehealth consultations are not appropriate for emergency care, and Little Biome is not able to provide an emergency response.
With your consent, sessions may be recorded and transcribed using secure clinical software, for the purpose of accurate note taking. Any recording or transcript is stored securely and used only by your practitioner as part of your care record.
Bookings, cancellations and fees
Payment for initial consultations is taken at the time of booking. For return appointments, an invoice is issued at the time of booking, with payment due at least 48 hours before your appointment. If payment is not received in this window, your appointment time may be released to another client.
All cancellation and rescheduling requests must be made by emailing Jessica, or going through the Simple Clinic portal. The time your request is received is what your notice period is measured against, based on Melbourne time (AEST/AEDT).
-
More than 48 hours notice: full refund
-
Between 24 and 48 hours notice: 50% refund
-
Within 24 hours notice (or no show): no refund
One reschedule is offered free of charge, provided at least 24 hours notice is given. Requests to reschedule with less than 24 hours notice will be considered individually and may incur a cancellation fee.
If we need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, for example due to illness or an unforeseen event, we will let you know as soon as possible and offer you the choice of rescheduling or a full refund.
Acute appointments are available to existing clients only.
If you have not had an appointment with us in the past 6 to 12 months, you will need to book an initial or extended return consultation rather than a standard return appointment.
Functional testing
If you choose to complete functional testing as part of your care, such as stool or breath testing, fees for that testing are payable in advance. Once a test kit has been sent for processing, the fee is non refundable, as the laboratory begins processing your sample immediately.
Your responsibilities
By providing information to Little Biome, you confirm that it is a true and accurate representation of your health, and you agree to tell your practitioner about any changes to your health, medications, or supplements.
Little Biome requires a parent or legal guardian to provide consent for, and be involved in, the consultation of any client under the age of 18. If you are completing this form or booking on behalf of a client under 18, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian, and that you are consenting to their consultation and any recommended treatment on their behalf.
Liability and disclaimers
Naturopathic and nutritional advice is provided based on the information you share with us. While we take care in providing recommendations, outcomes cannot be guaranteed, and Little Biome is not liable for outcomes arising from incomplete or inaccurate information provided by you, or from a failure to follow through on recommendations.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
